Madge gives £2.3m to sect

Madonna has given more than £2.3million to the Kabbalah sect in four years, it emerged yesterday.

The Material Girl donated to the mystical Jewish group - which she and husband Guy Ritchie attend regularly - through her Ray of Light Foundation, the singer's tax returns for 2001-4 reveal.

However, her gifts to Kabbalah shrunk from £1million in 2002 to £386,000 two years later. Madonna also gave £325,000 to the fund for New York police widows and their families after the 9/11 attacks.
