A member of the notorious Manson "family," Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, was released from prison on Friday after serving 34 years for the attempted assassination of U.S. president Gerald Ford.
Fromme, 60, will remain under supervised probation for the rest of her life, officials said.
The California-born follower of 1960s cult leader Charles Manson was convicted in 1975 of Ford's attempted assassination after her dramatic arrest by security agents as she pointed a gun at the president in Florida.
