Pikesville, Maryland - According to ABC2News in Baltimore the FBI is investigating a homeowner with ties to a Wisconsin cult-like religious organization.
Baltimore County Police raided the home in Pikesville, Maryland late Tuesday night after reports that an 18-year-old woman was assaulted
She's currently in stable condition in the hospital. However, officers sensed something was wrong and went back to the home Wednesday morning.
No one was inside the house around 11:00 a.m. when officers obtained a search warrant and the SWAT team began searching the house.
ABC2News tells Newsline 9 that Samanta Institute of Science & Technology leader Dr. Avraham Cohen owns the home.
S.I.S.T. is thought to be a reclusive religious organization with ties to Shawano and Minnesota.
About 3 years ago the FBI began investigating the group after a Canadian businessman told agents that S.I.S.T. members faxed him a list entitled "Redrum" of 60 Shawano residents including the mayor, police chief, judges and business leaders. Some speculate it was a hit list.
No charges were filed.
According to ABC2News neighbors say they've seen cars with Minnesota license plates outside the home frequently over the past decade. They also noticed that the blinds were always drawn, keeping the house dark.
