Richmond, Virginia - Five days after accepting the resignation of Senior Pastor Geronimo Aguilar and three other board members, the board of directors at the Richmond Outreach Center met behind closed doors Monday evening to decide on a severance package for the ROC’s founder and former leader.
Aguilar is charged with seven felonies in Texas in connection to alleged sexual abuse involving two young sisters in the 1990’s. Aguilar is currently out on bond until his trial in Fort Worth.
While board member Billy Croxton says a decision regarding a severance package was reached, the board is withholding its decision until Tuesday morning so Aguilar and his attorney have time to review it.
In addition to Aguilar’s severance, The board also discussed whether to extend severance packages to former board members Matthew Aguilar, Andrew Delgado and Jason Helmlinger.
Croxton says the board also reached a decision Tuesday regarding the parsonage where Aguilar and his family are currently living.
The $591,000 home in South Richmond is paid for by the church. The board says Aguilar will be given a certain period time before he is required to vacate the property. That decision will also be announced on Tuesday.
