Belarusian citizens who were recently waiting for Doomsday in a prayer house in the Penza region have been deported from Russia under a court ruling, Belarusian law enforcement agencies told Interfax on Wednesday.
"A Penza court ruled in favor of administrative deportation of six citizens of Belarus who were waiting for Doomsday at a prayer house. They have already crossed the Belarusian border and will arrive in Brest within a few hours," they said.
"They are residents of the Zhabinka district of the Brest region, among them three minors. The state paid for the train tickets for the six residents of the Zhabinka district," they said.
Meanwhile, sect leader Pyotr Kuznetsov held talks with other members of the sect on Wednesday, including children, who were still waiting for the end of the world in a cave in the Penza region.
Six of them are also Belarusian citizens.
"The main result is we have made sure that all the children are alive and healthy," Andrei Kulitsev, deputy head of the regional administration, told Interfax. "No decision has been made on the basis of the results of the negotiations. We must take a break now and think everything through."
A report in mid-November said several people, including young children, had sealed themselves off in a cave in Bekovo district, Penza region, awaiting Doomsday.
Kuznetsov is undergoing an examination at a psychiatric hospital.
Varying estimates put the number members of his sect awaiting Doomsday at between 18 and 27.
