Isn't This What They Said About Roswell?

Albuquerque Journal/September 20, 2011

A possible UFO sighting over the weekend became an IFO when KOAT-TV's weekend weatherman Byron Morton identified an object many Albuquerque residents saw in the evening sky as a weather balloon.

The scientific balloon launched from the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Fort Sumner was launched Saturday and was visible to the naked eye throughout central New Mexico during the evening hours, according to a post on the National Weather Service website.

While those high-altitude balloons can have flights that last one for days, this one was over on Sunday, according to the weather service.

According to Action 7 News, the balloons are usually the size of small cars on launching, but grow to the size of a two-story house as they soar into the lower-pressure atmosphere.
