Clyde, Texas - The Texas Forest Service said a fire that broke out on Tuesday near the House of Yahweh compound in Callahan County destroyed three residences and three travel trailers.
Forest Service spokesman Lewis Kearney said no one was injured in the fire, which appeared to be electrical in origin. The blaze consumed about 200 acres. Along with the occupied structures, four outbuildings were destroyed and a travel trailer and outbuilding were damaged.
Officials said the West Texas fire was 40 percent contained on Tuesday night.
Firefighters also battled several small fires in other parts of the state.
