Vancouver/CKNW(AM980) -- They're still there. Falun Gong practioners remain in front of the chinese consulate in Vancouver even though city officials told them they had to take down their banners by noon on Friday.
The group has been protesting along Granville street for five years, but Mayor Sam Sullivan has said the group is in violation of city by-laws and must move.
Practitioner Sue Zhang says no one came by to make them remove their banners, and spokesman Mansour Sedighr says the group plans to continue their protest against the Chinese government, which they claim systematically tortures and imprisons Falun Gong practioners.
