Benny Hinn, the controversial evangelist, known for his 'miracle crusades' will be back in city next month after a gap of eight years.
The Bethel AG Church in Hebbal is organising a 'prayer conference' in which Benny is the guest speaker on January 15, 16 and 17 . Organisers said that it was only a prayer for sick people in it and there will be no healing crusades. The entry free for the event at Supernova Arena in Yelahanka is Rs 850.
Hinn's last visit in 2005 resulted in five cases filed in HC against his miracle crusades. Petitions alleged that it was aimed at conversion. Publicity material for the event were withdrawn by the organisers after protests that it cast Hindu culture in a poor light.
The HC then let the three-day event take place at Jakkur air field. It led to arson in some parts of the city, with over a 100 BMTC buses damaged. The issue took a political hue with then chief minister N Dharam Singh and Deve Gowda attending the event.
