Comedian Loses Court Case Against 'Jews For Jesus'

WNBC, New York/November 9, 2006

New York -- A federal judge in Manhattan has ruled that a religious pamphlet with the name and image of comedian Jackie Mason is constitutionally protected speech.

Mason sued the group Jews for Jesus, which distributes the pamphlets. The comedian contends the group's use of his name and images hurt his career and misappropriated his image.

The judge in the case urged both sides to settle before a hearing next week.
