A Reno man convicted of sexually abusing three children in his cult-like home was sentenced Tuesday to five life sentences.
58-year-old Raymond George will be eligible for parole in 72 years under the sentence handed down by Washoe District Judge Steven Kosach.
Each sentence was the maximum possible under law. Two girls, now 16 and 17, and their 15-year-old brother high-fived each other outside the courtroom.
After the court session, Kosach stepped down from the bench and hugged the girls.
George was found guilty in March of lewdness with a child under 14, sexual assault on a child and child abuse.
According to testimony during his trial, George called himself "Jacob" and took the three children into his home for about two years.
Using the Bible as his authority, George made the girls his wives and forced them to spend time with him in his "fantasy room."
