Raid on accused Sarah Lawrence ‘sex-cult leader’ Lawrence Ray finds polygraph, journals

Investigators seized a polygraph machine along with a trove of other evidence against accused Sarah Lawrence sex-cult leader Lawrence Ray when they raided his New Jersey home and a storage unit as he was arrested earlier this month.

Authorities also seized some 40 journals, 44 hard drives, 15 floppy disks, five laptops, 15 flash drives and hundreds of thousands of emails and other electronic evidence, prosecutors said during a hearing in Manhattan federal court Wednesday.

It’s not clear what material is on the polygraph machine or in the pieces of evidence that were seized.

Prosecutors and Ray’s defense team will be given 10 weeks to sift through the material before a trial in his sex-trafficking case can begin.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Ray’s attorney asked Judge Lewis Liman if he would issue an order for medical treatment to be given to Ray while he’s locked up in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan.

Ray, who is diabetic, made strained facial expressions while his lawyer spoke of his medical issue.

The 60-year-old former friend of disgraced NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik allegedly created a Nxivm-like sex cult to prey on his daughter’s classmates at Sarah Lawrence College — all while allegedly raking in nearly $1 million by extorting the classmates and forcing one into prostitution.

In one case, Ray, 60, allegedly “sexually groomed” a young woman, forced her to have sex with a male victim while he watched and blackmailed her into more than four years of prostitution, raking in $500,000 from the trafficking, according to prosecutors.
