Kyodo -- The Supreme Court has rejected an objection lodged by a senior member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult against the finalization of his death sentence, judicial sources said Tuesday.
Seiichi Endo, 51, who was convicted of involvement in several murder cases, including the 1995 sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subway system, is the 13th Aum member whose death sentence has been finalized.
During 16 years and nine months of investigations and criminal trials, 189 Aum members were indicted, of whom 188, including the cult's founder, Shoko Asahara, were convicted.
