Four new clergy sex abuse lawsuits were filed in local and federal court, including one by a second former altar boy who said priest Louis Brouillard paid for his summer trip to Minnesota and sexually abused and molested him.
The lawsuit states that Brouillard forced the boy to engage in sexual activity with another boy during the trip.
The plaintiff, identified in court documents only as F.M. to protect his privacy, said in the complaint that Brouillard sent for him and his friend.
Brouillard, now 96 and is living in Minnesota, was a Catholic priest on Guam from 1948 to 1981.
F.M.'s friend, with the initials F.S.L. based on court documents, filed a lawsuit Sept. 26.
On Monday, , F.M. filed a $10 million clergy sex abuse lawsuit in the Superior Court of Guam against Brouillard, the Archdiocese of Agana, the Boy Scouts of America and its Aloha Council Chamorro District and up to 50 others.
Both former altar boys are represented by attorney Michael Berman, who now represents 20 Guam clergy sex abuse plaintiffs in local court.
In his complaint, F.M., now 49, said Brouillard sexually abused him for more than seven years, from around 1973 to 1980, when he was about 10 to 17 years old.
The alleged abuses happened when he was an altar boy for the Barrigada and Tumon parishes and as a Boy Scout. Brouillard was a priest and a Boy Scout scoutmaster at the time, his complaint says.
Besides F.M., two others represented by Berman filed lawsuits in local court identified only as R.G. and P.P.
Another altar boy, H.A.W., represented by attorney David Lujan, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday in federal court, alleging that Brouillard sexually abused him from around 1975 to 1977 when he was about 8 to 9 years old.
The four new cases bring to 131 the number of clergy sex abuse lawsuits filed in local and federal court against the archdiocese, clergy and others associated with the Catholic church.
