A Google contractor settled a lawsuit that claimed he suffered religious discrimination from a sect that had gained a foothold in Google’s workplace, The New York Times reported. The suit involved a worker in a business unit called Google Developer Studios, which produces videos about Google’s technologies. The suit claimed the leader of the business unit was a member of a religious group called the Fellowship of Friends and hired many other members of the sect through staffing firms. The plaintiff in this suit said he was fired after he complained to Google about the sect. The lawsuit was brought last year against Google and staffing firm Advanced Systems Group.
