Students Face Disciplinary Action for Removal of Flyers

Four Cal State Dominguez Hills students face possible disciplinary action for allegedly removing university-approved flyers from campus bulletin boards.

A memo obtained by The Rainbow from Vice President for Students Affairs Louis J. Murdock to Associate Director of Student Developments Dema Scott names Zane Wilson, Jason Bowman, Larry McGlothlin and Jessica Lopez as the accused.

The flyers criticize the International Churches of Christ (ICC).

Wilson, a member of the ICC, confirmed that he is removing the flyers. However, it has not been confirmed that the others are involved. Wilson says his reason for removing the flyers is because "they're lies."

This action was prompted by a complaint regarding the removal of flyers filed with the Student Affairs Office in mid-March by Reginald Greene, who is actively involved in Cult Awareness Resources(CARES).

Scott will meet with the students and if disciplinary action is warranted, the students will be notified and a hearing date will be set.

According to Associated Vice President for Student Life Teresa Chiang, penalties for these types of offenses include probation, suspension and expulsion.
