Self-help guru James Ray broadens his comeback

Phoenix -- James Arthur Ray, the self-help guru convicted of negligent homicide in the deaths of three people during a sweat lodge ceremony near Sedona in 2009, is broadening his comeback to include a live webinar.

Ray, who spent less than two years in an Arizona prison after his 2011 conviction, tweeted that he is hosting a live and free webinar at 7 p.m. MST Thursday.

"Life questions? Ask James Anything Live! FREE WEBINAR June 26 http://buff.ly/UwfmOs tweet questions in advance to #askjameslive," Ray tweeted.

"If you are ready to accelerate your life or business, you won't want to miss this FREE webinar," the tweet continues.

Ray has also scheduled a series of live events in five cities: July 25-26 in Seattle, Aug. 9-10 in Los Angeles, Aug. 22-23 in Scottsdale, Sept. 5-6 in St. Louis, and Sept. 20-21 in the Mid-Atlantic area of greater Philadelphia, Baltimore, Delaware and New Jersey. He is charging from $297 for one day to $494 for both days.

Kirby Brown, Liz Neuman and James Shore died during the sweat lodge ceremony. Ray said during his sentencing hearing that he would have stopped the ceremony had he known people were dying or in distress. He said he took full responsibility for the pain and anguish he caused the families of the victims.

He openly addresses the deaths and his time in prison, an overall process during which "I actually found myself," he said.

The motivational speaker re-launched his self-help business in November on CNN's Piers Morgan Live.
